Simonton bio; Proud father of Eric and Mark, both in college.
District judge since 1998. Private law practice, including county attorney, 1971-1998.
Peace Corps volunteer to Ghana,W.Africa, 1966-68.
Proud alumnus of NDSU and U of M. Prouder member of the Abbey Class of 1962.
Retired since 1999 after operating and managing a family business for twenty-nine years. Two sons, Scott 42 & wife Cindy, Brian 39 & wife Katie who have three children: Olivia, 14, Johnny 11, and Ben 9; with both doing very well and living in Arcata, CA up in Northern California on the coast to where I will be moving shortly. Recently divorced after forty-three years of marriage and nine days before seventieth birthday. A surprise to us all. So, I am now honestly looking to a “new beginning” after all that has happened. No Benedictines in the area, but have found the Jesuits to being very knowledgeable and helpful in Ignatious Spirituality. Without them and many friends, I have no idea where I would be.
Looking forward to seeing all and enjoying the wonderful country on my way to visit friends and relatives back in ND.
